London PHV Standards

The basic rule: licensed driver, licensed operator, licensed vehicle.

Arrivo Rides onboarding is designed around London private hire rules. Drivers must be licensed by Transport for London, journeys must be booked through a licensed London private hire operator, and the vehicle used must be a London licensed PHV suitable for the work.

👤

Licensed PHV driver

Drivers must hold a valid London PHV driver licence. Arrivo Rides checks driver identity, licence details, badge, DVLA licence information and profile photo before activation.

🏢

Licensed operator booking

A PHV driver must only carry out private hire bookings received through a licensed London PHV operator. Unbooked pickups are not accepted in the Arrivo Rides workflow.

🚘

Licensed PHV vehicle

The vehicle must be TfL PHV licensed, insured for hire and reward work, roadworthy, clean, presentable and suitable for the passenger and luggage requirements of the journey.

🚫 Private hire is not street hire

PHV drivers must not behave like taxis.

A London PHV driver must not pick up unbooked passengers from the street, stations, airports or outside venues. The journey must be pre-booked through a licensed operator before the passenger enters the vehicle.

No street pickups
No unbooked airport pickups
No passenger entry before operator booking
No indication of being available for hire without a booking
All journey changes must be communicated through the correct workflow
Pre-Activation Checks

Documents and vehicle details must be reviewed before activation.

Arrivo Rides does not activate a driver based only on account registration. The driver and vehicle profile must be checked, and missing or unclear documents may be rejected for re-upload.

Booking Control

Passenger, driver and vehicle information must match before travel.

Arrivo Rides treats booking accuracy as part of compliance. The correct driver and vehicle must be connected to the journey before the passenger travels.

Passenger and booking name The driver must know who the booking is for and follow the pickup instructions issued through the correct workflow.
Pickup time and pickup location Airport transfers require accurate time, terminal, meeting point and any special instructions before the driver attends.
Main destination The route and destination should be clear. Any change to the final destination should be communicated to operations/operator workflow.
Driver identity The allocated driver name, photo and PHV badge details must align with the driver attending the journey.
Vehicle identity The vehicle make, model, colour and registration must match the vehicle attending the booking.
Suitability for passengers and luggage Passenger count, suitcase count, child seats, buggies and special assistance needs must be considered before allocation.

✈️ Heathrow Meet & Greet compliance

Airport pickup standards must be followed precisely.

Heathrow Meet & Greet work requires discipline. Drivers must follow the agreed terminal, meeting point, passenger communication, luggage support and parking/collection instructions.

Flight and landing awareness
Passenger greeted professionally inside the terminal
Driver badge visible while working
Correct vehicle attends the booking
Parking and airport instructions followed
Passenger guided calmly from arrivals to vehicle
Driver Behaviour

Professional conduct is part of compliance.

Arrivo Rides expects drivers to treat passengers respectfully, understand safeguarding principles, support passengers with disabilities or additional needs, and maintain safe driving standards.

🤝

Respect and equality

Drivers must be polite, respectful and aware that passengers may have different accessibility, language, mobility, family or safeguarding needs.

🛡️

Safeguarding awareness

Drivers should be alert to children and adults at risk, behave professionally and report concerns through the appropriate channel where required.

🚦

Safe driving

Driver conduct, vehicle condition, mobile phone discipline, route awareness and safe driving all form part of the professional passenger experience.

Change Control

Driver or vehicle changes must be recorded properly.

Compliance fails when journey details are changed casually. Arrivo Rides requires a clean record of the driver and vehicle connected to each booking.

01

No unapproved driver swap

The driver assigned to a booking must be the driver who attends. Any change must be communicated and approved through the correct workflow before the journey.

02

No unapproved vehicle swap

The vehicle registration, make, model and licence status must match the journey allocation. Replacement vehicles must be reviewed before use.

03

Document expiry monitored

Driver licences, vehicle licences, insurance and MOT documents must remain valid. Expired or unclear documents may block activation or future work eligibility.

04

Incidents and vehicle condition reported

Vehicle condition matters. Collisions, damage, safety issues, licence/badge loss or serious concerns must be reported quickly through the correct channel.

Arrivo Rides Review Workflow

How the compliance review works.

The Arrivo Rides onboarding flow is designed so drivers can see what is missing, what is under review and when training can begin.

1

Submit documents

The driver creates an account, completes the onboarding form and uploads driver, bank and vehicle documents.

2

Admin review

Arrivo Rides checks document quality, expiry dates, driver identity, vehicle identity, licensing, insurance and suitability.

3

Status dashboard

The driver can see whether the application is under review, approved, rejected or requires more information.

4

Re-upload if required

If a document is unclear, expired, missing or unsuitable, the driver may be asked to upload it again before approval.

5

Training access

Training material opens only after the driver and vehicle profile has progressed through review.

6

Partner onboarding

Approved drivers may proceed to partner-platform onboarding preparation, subject to demand, requirements and final approval.
